The new energy world at Intersolar Europe 2017
The global energy industry is currently evolving: Instead of large-scale, centralized nuclear and fossil fuel power stations, in the future, the energy supply will be secured by decentralized renewable energy plants and storage systems as well as consumers acting as so-called prosumers. Together with ees Europe, Intersolar Europe has become a platform for this new energy world, and as the world’s leading exhibition for the solar industry and its partners, it will serve as a source of inspiration from May 31–June 2, 2017 in Munich. This year, Intersolar Europe will once again be accompanied by ees Europe, the continent’s largest and most visited exhibition for batteries and energy storage systems. More than 1,200 exhibitors and 40,000 trade visitors from 160 countries are expected to attend.
At the special exhibit Smart Renewable Energy (hall B2, booth B2.140), the Helmholtz Association in cooperation with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and other partners will be presenting the Energy Lab 2.0 infrastructure platform. The platform is being used to investigate the complex interplay of the components of future energy systems. On June 1, this topic will also feature at the Smart Renewable Energy Forum (hall B2, booth B2.131), which will address concepts and technologies for a smart, decentralized energy landscape on each day of the exhibition. The topic will additionally be taken up by the Intersolar Europe Conference being held on May 30 and 31, also in Munich. A variety of sessions at the conference will discuss strategies for sustainably shaping the new energy world. Other topics include new business models and financing opportunities, the operation and maintenance of large-scale PV power plant and the situation of the global market.
